Synopsis

The company’s website was shut down, and the US Head office did not answer the telephone. It filed an IPO in December 1999, but withdrew it in February 2000 due to a change in senior management. It reapplied in May 2000 for a US$250 million float, but withdrew again in December 2000 due to unfavourable market conditions. Formus’ wireless networks use radio spectrum, which is regulated by European government agencies and licensed to service providers.
