TT&T Plc, a public company listed on the Thai stock exchange, provides fixed-line services in all regions of Thailand outside of the greater Bangkok metropolitan area. Its services include local, domestic and international telephony, public payphones, value-added services, corporate data networking, VoIP and Internet. In its region the company competes with government telco, Telephone Organization of Thailand, to whom it also pays a significant royalty on its revenues. In 1998, the devaluation of the Thai currency forced the company to default on its loans.
