Synopsis

This profile was archived in January 2007 and was last updated in December 2003. TT&T Plc, a public company listed on the Thai stock exchange, provides fixed-line services in all regions of Thailand outside of the greater Bangkok metropolitan area. Its services include local, domestic and international telephony, public payphones, value-added services, corporate data networking, VoIP and Internet. In its region the company competes with government telco, Telephone Organization of Thailand, to whom it also pays a significant royalty on its revenues. In 1998, the devaluation of the Thai currency forced the company to default on its loans. Debt restructuring enabled the company to continue trading, however its medium-term prospects for growth had been restricted.
