Synopsis

WilTel Communications provides nationwide single-source business communications systems integration, international video satellite and fibre-optic transmission, multipoint video and audio-conferencing, satellite business television applications, enhanced fax services, interactive technical training, on-demand distance learning, wireless, Internet and telemarketing services. It has its own extensive fibre-optic cable network throughout the US, and has access to several international cables. Previously known as Williams Communications, it had disagreements with its bankers in late 2001, and filed for Chapter 11 protection while it restructured its balance sheet. Following restructuring in 2002, it emerged from bankruptcy in October 2002 with its new name. Research on this company was discontinued in 2003)
