A number of initiatives were launched to help the uptake and acceptance of broadband – some by individual organisations, others by the government. Previous initiatives included the Broadband Forum; the National Broadband Applications Project; Project Probe; the E-Commerce Action Team (ECAT); the government’s eBusiness Strategy; Local Government NZ’s e-Local strategy; the Growth and Innovation Framework; E-regions; and the Next Generation Internet (NGI) project.
