Synopsis

ADSL connections in the UK in early 2001 totalled some 35,000 while Germany reached 500,000. Cable operators ntl and Telewest have also announced a joint marketing initiative for broadband services. UK broadband Internet portals had audience growth in the final quarter of 2000, according to research by Nielsen/NetRatings. The two companies have also announced a joint marketing initiative to promote broadband services.
